Smart Water Management Network
System for monitoring the distribution network for local authorities and service companies.
The objective of the SWMN platform is to optimise water supply management through the monitoring of the distribution network. This objective is met through the creation of an innovative water distribution network monitoring process and the implementation of an integrated system based on non-invasive techniques, IoT technologies (secure, modular and scalable) and low-cost, low-power intelligent sensor networks.
The SWMN platform employs efficient technologies that facilitate continuous and detailed monitoring of the distribution network from both a quantitative and qualitative perspective. This enables the monitoring of the water resource and the enhancement of distribution network management efficiency. Additionally, it allows for the utilisation of network efficiency indicators at various levels, including those pertaining to decision-making and technical-operational aspects. The SWNM intelligent water management system is designed to optimise the use of water resources by providing technologically advanced solutions. SWMN provides complete control over the water network, enabling real-time monitoring of water quality and the identification of any issues, while preventing critical situations in service delivery. It offers maximum transparency and data security.
SWMN represents the future of sustainable water management, offering a responsive, real-time service that meets the needs of the community and ensures superior quality.
The SWMN project has been developed in line with Action 1.3.2 of the POR Calabria FESR FSE 2014-2020, “Support for the generation of innovative solutions to specific socially relevant problems, including through the use of open innovation environments such as Living Labs’. The project is focused on promoting and testing innovative ways of initiating research and development processes, in particular in the field of collective goods and services. This is with the objective of identifying new products and/or services, with the active participation of end users.
